The entrepreneurial love birds, Andrew and Sammi Ekmark, founded Ink'd in 2023 after a very chaotic Valentine's Day for Andrew. Running into Target last minute to get Sammi the perfect greeting card to pair with his thoughtful gift that year, Andrew was overwhelmed with frustration. The entire section took up three aisles, inventory was scattered around, missing, and confusing. After an exorbitant amount of time, Andrew finally settled for a "funny" card and walked out paying seven dollars. Now, luckily Sammi keeps all of her greeting cards and doesn't throw any away, but Andrew soon realized he wasn't the only one who had frustration towards greeting cards.
A few months later, Ink'd was born. Research proved that the entire industry needed to be upgraded, or else greeting cards were most likely going to die in a decade and Andrew couldn't let that happen to Sammi, as she loved them way too much. So, they teamed up, a lover and a hater, to create an experience and product that is more efficient and profitable for retailers, and more convenient, fun, and affordable for consumers.
